Dr. Ann Malain - EVP, Workplace Mental Health & Clinical Services

Dr. Ann Malain, PhD, is Homewood Health’s Executive Vice-President, Workplace Mental Health & Clinical Services. Dr. Malain is responsible for leading Homewood Health’s national clinical service delivery, and clinical network. She oversees service delivery in two primary divisions: Stay at Work Services (Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), Crisis Management Services (CMS); Organizational Wellness Services); and Return to Work Services (Rapid IMPACT, Psychological Assessment, and Disability Management). Through this work, she provides clinical expertise to the development of employer mental health strategies designed to increase employee performance, reduce absenteeism and decrease time to return to work. Dr. Malain provides leadership to ensure clinical quality across all Homewood outpatient and inpatient services.

Dr. Malain is a registered psychologist with more than 25 years’ experience in EFAP, community mental health, psychological assessment and substance abuse treatment. She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Washington. Her areas of expertise include clinical diagnosis, concurrent mental health/substance abuse assessment and treatment, and clinical supervision. She has extensive experience treating depression, anxiety and trauma.

Prior to joining Homewood she directed a university EAP, served as clinical director of a community mental health agency, and directed a domestic violence perpetrator treatment program. Her experience also includes developing substance abuse and concurrent mental health treatment programs within university and community mental health settings. In addition to teaching graduate courses on psychodiagnostics and clinical interviewing at several universities, she has also provided expert witness testimony in legal proceedings and organizational consulting services to a number of organizations. Dr. Malain is a leader in the field of workplace psychology and provides training at regional and national conferences across North America.
