Homewood Health is Recognized for Advancing Measurement-Based Care

For over 20 years, Homewood Health has pioneered advances in Measurement-Based Care (MBC) to help guide clinical decision-making across our entire continuum of services, from inpatient to outpatient treatment, to return-to-work care and employee and family assistance. Ultimately, Measurement-Based Care has been proven to significantly improve outcomes for patients receiving psychotherapy and/or pharmacotherapy for depression, anxiety, and other conditions.

What is Measurement-Based Care?

Measurement-Based Care is a structured approach to treatment where validated, standardized questionnaires are regularly used to track a person’s symptoms, functioning, and well-being over time, and the results are actively used to guide clinical decisions.

Powered by technology, Measurement-Based Care is a patient-centred approach that has transformed the landscape of mental health care. Measurement-Based Care offers a significant leap forward in personalized treatment by making patients active participants in their recovery.

In addition to being a proven approach in treating depression and anxiety, research has shown that Measurement-Based Care has also been effective in alleviating symptoms related to substance use, eating disorders, trauma, and concurrent disorders. Shannon Remers, Senior Director of Research, Quality and Outcomes at Homewood Health, advocates for Measurement-Based Care by saying, “Measurement-Based Care allows clinicians to understand the specific needs of the individuals they are serving, make adjustments when needed to their care plans and make real-time improvements to healthcare systems.”
