At Homewood Health, our commitment to work-focused mental health innovation extends beyond services for employees, it’s also about shaping the standards and practices that define quality care.
That’s why we’re proud to share new milestones that highlight our leadership role in advancing evidence-based, collaborative, and impactful mental health practices.
Launching a Clinical Networking Group
We’ve established a new Clinical Networking Group to provide monthly mentorship and peer support for clinicians working with first responders. This forum fosters consistency, collaboration, and evidence-informed practice, ensuring those serving frontline personnel are equipped with the best tools and shared expertise.
Leadership on the MDGuidelines Medical Advisory Board
Both Dr. McCutchen and Dr. Harrington have been appointed to the MDGuidelines Medical Advisory Board, which reviews and refines medical content, rehabilitation guidelines, and physiological duration tables. Their contributions help ensure that Health Advisor topics remain clinically representative and current.
This work strengthens our leadership voice in shaping standards that directly influence return-to-work and rehabilitation practices, areas that are central to employee health and organizational resilience.
Supporting Research in Public Safety Mental Health
Dr. Harrington has also been selected as a peer reviewer for the Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research. This role extends our impact in advancing high-quality, evidence-based approaches to public safety mental health, helping create lasting improvements in care for those who protect and serve.
How This Benefits Your Organization and Your Employees
These initiatives aren’t just academic. They translate into real-world value for workplaces and employees:
- Higher standards of care: Our clinicians are guided by the latest research and peer-supported best practices.
- Stronger return-to-work outcomes: Advisory roles ensure rehabilitation guidelines remain aligned with workforce needs.
- Trusted leadership: Partnerships with national bodies reinforce our ability to influence the future of workplace mental health care.
- Better clinician support: Networking and mentorship ensure consistency and quality for employees accessing care
Through mentorship, advisory board leadership, and research collaborations, Homewood is strengthening its leadership in work-focused mental health innovation.
